A community built for trade
Antop Hill Warehousing Company Limited (AWCL), now AWCL Corporate Park Ltd (ACPL), is a closely held public limited company with its registered office at Antop Hill Warehousing Complex, Antop Hill, Mumbai. It was incorporated to construct godowns, warehouses and other structures.
ACPL is a mutual association of members. The company constructed the premises and allotted them to its members for their use.
Why the company was formed
The company was floated by five associations at the instance of the Government of Maharashtra. The aim was to shift the storage of chemicals out of the B and C wards of Greater Bombay and to decongest the city.

From allotment to construction
The Government of Maharashtra, Revenue Department, grants the Antop Hill property to the BMC on a 99-year lease for chemical godowns (memorandum dated 12 November 1975).
Possession of the land is handed over to the BMC on 14 January 1976.
The Government approves the grant of the land under lease or sub-lease by the BMC to the IMC and others (order dated 17 October 1983).
The Government approves the sub-lease to AWCL (order dated 18 April 1984). Buildings A, B and C are constructed with BMC approval and the required government permissions.

There are three buildings, each Ground + 3 floors with basement car parking. The 624 members are shareholders of the company, and each holds a unit.

ACPL has tied up with Lodha as developer for the redevelopment of the complex, to bring the latest and modern class premises to its members.
